Back from China
Yesterday things started off on a good note ... a teller friend of mine saved three halves for me, one 90% silver half (1964) and two 40% silver halves (2 x 1968D).
I bought four boxes of pennies (10,000 coins) and went through them when I got home. In them were 113 Wheats (about double my normal rate), 58 Canadians, and one Euro 2¢. The Wheat varieties were:
1917, 1927, 1935, 1937, 1938, 1940(2), 1941(3), 1941D, 1942(6), 1944(8), 1945(6), 1946(11), 1946D(2), 1947(2), 1948(4), 1949(3), 1949S, 1950(3), 1950S, 1951(3), 1951D(2), 1952(2), 1952D(4), 1953(3), 1953D, 1954, 1955(3), 1956(4), 1956D(12), 1957(3), 1957D(8), 1958, 1958D(7)
In other news my carpool buddy came home from China. It's going to be great to hear all about his trip on our rides in. He brought back a big batch of Chinese coin and currency for me. It's some really cool stuff. The collection contains about a dozen bills and a half dozen coins. I'll put up some pictures of the bills later, but here are some type pictures of the coins. Top to bottom the pictures are 1 Yuan, 5 Jiao, 1 Jiao, 5 Fen, 2 Fen, and 1 Fen. 1 Yuan = 10 Jiao = 100 Fen. (It's a bit like pre-decimal British Empire.)
Found: 15 pennies (at the car wash), 2 dimes (at the car wash), 1 quarter (at the car wash)
